The Joe T. Top 25:
(Strictly Based on Games I’ve seen.)
—Georgia (3-0): Who is like the Bulldogs? Who is able to make war with them?
—Alabama (3-0): Louisiana-Monroe? It’s like winning an arm-wrestling contest with your 4-year-old niece.
—Ohio St. (3-0): I said C.J. Stroud would throw six touchdown passes against Toledo…He only threw five.
—Clemson (3-0): What do you think about DJ Uiagalelei?
—USC (3-0): All good, but given how much he handles the ball outside the pocket—is Caleb Williams cruisin for bruisin? What happens when he goes down?
—Penn St. (3-0): Auburn is down, but still a great road win.
—Texas (2-1): We said UTSA was a trap game. The score was tied at half, but all Longhorns with Bijan in the second half.
—Washington (3-0): There are times Michael Penix Jr. looks elite.
—Florida St. (3-0): Seminoles are good, but not great…and remarkably fortunate.
—Michigan St. (2-1): I’ve had enough of Payton Thorne. Does Dave Yarema have any eligibility left?
—LSU (2-1): Out athleted Mississipi St. in the fourth. Not a believer.
—Mississippi St. (2-1): I felt like Will Rogers was being forced on me. I think he’s okay.
—Notre Dame (1-2): It was a little early for the green jerseys bit, but the Golden Bears cooperated—just enough.
—Oregon (2-1): Are the Ducks good enough for their fans to chant, “F. The Mormons”…?
—Louisville (1-2): Cards will give opponents fits, but their fans heartache.
—Indiana (3-0): Not buying Hoosier stock until after the Wolverines come to Bloomington.
—Syracuse (3-0): The Orange should put all of West Laffeyette on their Christmas card list.
—Purdue (1-2): I like Aidan O’Connell. Regarding everything else…well…I like Aidan O’Connell.
—California (2-1): I haven’t rooted for Cal since the days of Joe Roth, Chuck Munice, and Steve Rivera…but I did root for them in South Bend.
—Stanford (1-1): Coming off a bye and going to Washington.
—Illinois (2-1): Come off bye to play Chattanooga tonight (Thursday). I have no faith in the Illini.
—Northwestern (1-2): Dublin really was the high point. Note to Cornhusker fans: Your team lost to the team that lost to Southern Illinois.
—Fresno State (1-2): Jake Haener’s injury is a major bummer ski.
—Georgia Tech (1-2): Ramblin Wreck indeed.
—Nebraska (1-3): So much for that post Frost boost.
