Q: “Do you relax after you get a book out?” (Paraphrase)
A: For about a day. The writing is the fun part…The editing is fun until you’re reading it for the tenth time and want it to go away. The releasing is relief…but after about 24-hours you become–the worst thing possible–needy. You begin to stress that the work stinks…I despise dwelling in Needy-Land…so I go to work on my next project and tell myself I won’t stink this time.
