“The NCAA was so upset with UCLA they put UNLV on probation.”—Jerry Tarkanian
Kick it!
Breaking News! A controversial political statement is pending!
Final Four Saturday…Does UCLA run out of tournament money today? I know it’s money because all the magic died with the SC debacle earlier in the week.
Player introductions…Would it kill the NCAA and CBS to do player introductions?
If you want me to care about the one shining moment Bolshoi, then you have to let me know at least the names and places of origin of the characters in the drama.
I still have this in my head: “At guard a 6-1, senior out of New Britain, Connecticut, Rod Foster.”
You knew the player’s names, you knew where they were from, and you felt that little bit of extra emotion for them playing in what could be or would be their last basketball game.
I’m going to strike the tone of Dodger fans on Twitter:
Fire Dave Roberts!
Release Trevor Bauer!
It’s time for Kershaw to retire!
(No, I didn’t see all this, but I’ve heard this—or something akin to it—for the last six years.)
I now wait for: “Dude, Trevor Bauer hasn’t been with the Dodgers for six years!”
Can I some up the tone of Mets fans on Twitter?
(All the time.)
#$%@!*!!!
Here’s my controversial political statement regarding the MLB’s decision to move it’s All-Star Game and Draft out of Atlanta due to Georgia’s new “Voter I.D.” laws.
Go to MLB games and spend money…or don’t go to MLB games and don’t spend money. It’s your call.
Goodness, MLB played a baseball game in Castro’s Cuba a few springs ago…do you really think they care about anything beyond what the social media mob thinks? Or humans rights and dignity? They’re a business. Let them do what they want, and you do what you want.
I kinda like sniping from the cheap seats.
Will I keep going to games? It’s a moot point…Considering Dodger ticket prices and the cost of McCourt parking, it was doubtful I was going to go to a game this year anyway.
But if I can take a “Free Ride” (meaning someone else is paying) to Chavez Ravine…yeah, I’ll take it.
Will I go to Angels games?
No. I haven’t been to an Angel game in about twenty years. Proximity to Halo fans lessens my Dodger-Dysphoria…And I’m in a happier place emotionally when I can freely despise the Dodgers.
(The only time I ever got into a fight at a baseball game was with a vendor at the Big A…Plus, there was this obnoxious lady who interrupted a separate conversation I was having about Ellis Valentine back in 1983, which–as you can tell–just fried me!)
Are you kidding? Blake Snell didn’t go 6-innings in his Padres debut? I would’ve thought after the World Series he’d have negotiated a contract making the sixth-inning his option–not the club’s.
Another thing that’s thrown me off the first two days of the season…Buster Posey is hitting the ball. I thought he concluded his hitting career after the 2014 season.
I’m curious has the Deshaun Watson case ended, begun, or been settled? These days we usually hear all sorts of stuff about an athlete with 21 lawsuits filed against him–whether we watch the news or not. It usually dominates our media feeds. Maybe it’s my bad because I avoid watching ESPN like I do meals from Burger (Death) King.
Has Kevin Durant been canceled yet? Now that dude is living the dream. He is physically gifted, makes money for not playing basketball, and can make any comment he wants on Twitter with zero consequence.
That’s what I call livin’ la vida loca…
The Dude abides…
