1. Gonzaga – Last Monday’s Comment: “Capable of going on 15-2 runs better than anybody”; Last Monday’s Game: Started with a 15-2 run over BYU
2. Baylor – Last Week’s Comment: Next 3 scheduled games against ranked teams; Last Week: Covid cancels those three games
3. Michigan – Looked like a team coming off a 3+ week Covid pause in first half vs Wisconsin. Looked like #3 team in the nation in the second half
4. Ohio St – Can’t overlook road game against Penn St before Top 5 matchup with Michigan
5. Illinois – took care of business against Nebraska, but had little room to breathe; Dosunmu is a beast
6. Virginia – Seems to have a found a groove
7. Alabama – 115 point outburst gets an amazing exclamation point with Darius Miles Dunk
8. Villanova – Saw Creighton’s best shot, but still in driver’s seat in Big East
9. Oklahoma – Big OT at West Virginia; then shown as 3 seed on CBS. Another banner week for the Sooners
10. West Virginia – Sour taste in mouth with OT loss to Oklahoma and both Baylor bouts cancelled; Waiting for Saturday matchup with Texas
11. Creighton – Huge W over Villanova; Dangerous team in March
12. Texas Tech – Lost rematch to West Va; back to back games vs TCU a nice remedy
13. Iowa – Strong bounce back week but story remains the same: they need to score score score
14. Texas – Got back on track against bottom feeders K St and TCU
15. Houston – Shown as a 2 seed as of now, but nowhere to go but down; can’t afford any more slip ups
16. Wisconsin – Looked ready to pounce on out of sync Michigan, but got hit in the mouth in the second half and couldn’t buy a bucket near the end
17. Missouri – Pattern continues with big win followed by a week of struggles
18. Tennessee – Looking for some consistent play and a consistent steak of wins
19. Loyola Chicago – The peripherals say they should be higher
20. Belmont – They will be a trendy upset pick, sweet 16 dark horse in March
21. Virginia Tech – On Covid Pause
22. Florida St – OT wins against Wake Forest won’t cut it moving forward
23. Oklahoma St – Struggled vs the Kansas schools
24. USC – Handled their business in Washington, Arizona schools at home up next
25. Purdue – No shame in only losing by 3 in The Barn
