End of the World? Around Here We Call That; Wednesday

Maybe it’s because of my Super Bowl prediction, maybe it’s because of my day job, but I’ve been asked my opinion so here it goes… (And I’m tagging nobody)

I’m numb to “End of The World” talk…It ceased moving my needle a long, long, time ago…

I can remember hearing about “Hong Kong Flu” and then “Swine Flu” and then “Bird Flu” …various prophecies about the damage of “Legionnaires Disease” and “SARS”…And now it’s CoronaVirus.

If Clinton’s elected it’s the end of the world, if Bush is elected it’s the end of the world, if Obama is elected it’s the end of the world, if Trump is elected it’s the end of the world.

My whole life in the church has been Jesus is coming tomorrow and it will be the end of the world. Jesus is coming next year, Jesus is coming in 1980, Jesus is coming in 1981, 1988, 1989, 1991, and in 2000 because of Y2K…Jesus is coming because Obama’s the Antichrist, Trump is the Antichrist… “The Rapture and Armageddon are the next great events on the Prophetic Calendar.”—Several preachers in 1981 …

There’s going to be a nuclear war (starting with “The Twilight Zone). We’re going to be overpopulated (Soylent Green, 1973). We’re going to run out of food (See Paul Erlich), we’re going to run out of oil, the oceans (1989) will be dead in ten years, New York and Miami (1997) will be underwater by 2010, the polar ice caps will be gone by 2013, we’ve got 12 years left…and of course Greta is telling us entire eco-systems are failing…

Believe what you want…But forgive me if I have “End of The World Fatigue Syndrome.”
